Employee surveys

Employee surveys can provide a foundation for improved profitability through, among other things, higher productivity, lower turnover, reduced absenteeism, stronger engagement, and increased work effort—when used effectively.

An employee survey is conducted among all employees in an organization to assess various aspects of the workplace. It provides valuable insight and awareness into how employees experience different conditions at work. While the survey is an important management tool, it is also a key channel through which employees can make their voices heard.

Not just numbers, but a basis for action

An employee survey from Respons Analyse provides more than statistics. We help you understand why employees thrive—or why they do not.

  • Reduce absenteeism and turnover by identifying risk factors before they develop into problems.

  • Measure what actually works. Our model is based on data from more than 6,500 respondents to identify the drivers that genuinely influence work performance.

  • Benchmark your organization and see how you compare with competitors in your industry.

  • Align management and employees by uncovering gaps between what management believes and what employees actually experience.

Our model for employee surveys

Our employee survey model—MedarbeiderRespons—is a proprietary framework originally developed in 2005 using an exploratory approach. At that time, we collected responses from 5,000 employees across a wide range of statements and analyzed the data to identify the aspects with the strongest impact (driver analysis and regression analysis) while ensuring that the parameters did not measure the same underlying factors (correlation analysis). The various parameters were then grouped through factor analysis—that is, an analysis of which variables naturally belong together.

The model has been updated several times since then, including adjustments based on newer research. The most recent update was carried out in 2022, based on a similar analytical review involving nearly 1,700 respondents.

Modell for medarbeiderundersøkelser

The employee survey does not only measure levels of satisfaction, loyalty, and engagement, but also identifies the factors that influence them the most. These insights provide a solid basis for decisions aimed at retaining key employees and building compelling arguments to attract new talent.

Benchmarking against industry data

As the model is based on responses from employees across different industries, sectors, and company sizes, the survey also shows how your organization performs compared with similar organizations in your industry, sector, and size category.

Is management’s perception aligned with employees?

To assess whether management’s perception aligns with that of employees, we measure managers’ estimates—what they believe employees will answer—and compare these with the employees’ actual responses. This increases management involvement when the results are presented and improves the likelihood that the findings lead to meaningful organizational change.
